| Detailed Description: The following new capabilities are provided within Atlas 8.0: |
Maintenance version – Thermo Informatics addressing customer feedback, have released Atlas 8.0. A product which stands up to your chromatographic laboratory needs. Although marked as a maintenance version, new functionality has been incorporated to aide usability.
- Alphabetized list sorting
- Flagging Bad injections for exclusion in processing results
- Chromatogram scaling saved on a per workbook basis
- Customization of fonts for table rows and columns to highlight data of interest

DSGateway architecture - The new communication service allows secure lockdown of the Atlas CDS acquisition device, and more efficient information transfer to Atlas Clients.
- The new DSGateway service for Atlas,8.0 relies on the communication standard TCIP/IP to transfer data between Atlas clients and dataservers. This protocol has replaced the DCOM communication, which was a security weakness.
- Enables the Atlas CDS dataserver to be securely locked down. Negating the need for security updates or virus software. Providing a “Black Box” solution on a validated production system.

Instrument Control – HPIB Dice control card for Hewlett Packard 5890
- After the discontinuation of the RS232 interface card, the HP5890 user community requested communication to their HP5890s through the HPIB card interface. Providing customers with the solution to reduce the cost of instrument upgrading.
- Atlas 8.0 incorporates the version independent DDK (Device Development Kit) control for Agilent 1100 LAN and Shimadzu VP Series. DDK control updates will be made available, removing the need to upgrade your CDS system for the new control functionality.

System Configuration - Auditing of actions within Atlas 8.0 and user preference profiles are now configurable to discrete files.
- Configuration auditable events are now recorded to a separate configuration audit file. Providing the ability to protect and archive auditable events.
- User preference profiles are saved at the end of a user session to file. When using thin client, allowing the user preference settings to be applied independent on the client computer they log onto.
