Since pH is a critical parameter in biology, Thermo was asked to be a contributing author to this question and answer format book due to our long tradition of technical expertise in the electrochemistry. Details on the use and care of pH meters, electrodes plus good laboratory technique for the bench scientist are included in Chapter 4, "How to Properly Use and Maintain Lab Equipment". Although the the book is focused towards life scientists, there are many practical tips for the novice to experienced pH user in any application.
