The Bessel smoothing function (x) is the form

where is an array (i.e., data file) where the X-axis range is normalized between 0 and 1. Thus, the Bessel filter defines the fraction of the Fourier transformed data to be zeroed and provides a smooth roll-off. The boxcar smoothing function simply zeros all points outside the cut-off.
