The United States EPA has approved Thermo Orion Methods for Free and Total Chlorine, Fluoride, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Nitrite and Phosphate. The drinking water test methods are equivalent to the methods required under the national primary drinking water regulations. The wastewater methods are equivalent to the methods for National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance monitoring under the Clean Water Act. The letters are listed below by their approval type.
