What's New in Watson 7.4

New or Modified Feature

Description

Performance Improvements in Design Summary Report

Dramatically improved performance when creating the Design Summary report with a dramatic increase in speed.

Incurred Sample Reanalysis

Driven by 3rd AAPS/FDA Bioanalytical Workshop “Crystal City”. Ability to include incurred samples within the same run as regular bioanalytical samples; separate Mandatory Repeats run no longer necessary; enhanced reporting (5 built-in comparative methods; flags samples that exceed pre-defined specifications; pre-defined ranges of sample acceptability; calculates % of acceptable samples in a study)

Watson Web Services Library (v2.0)

Allows importation of samples and sample-related information from external applications; a more ‘granular’ technique allows finer external control and adds new functionality such as creation of a project, getting lists of studies and projects, adding study and subject details, adding and updating sample details; creates a single report of any importation problems

Integration to LC/MS

Built-in data interchange with the company’s TSQ Series mass spectrometers, allows for direct data acquisition, peak re-integration, storage, archiving and reporting of raw data, all under the control of Watson’s centralized Oracle® database repository. Storage of LC/MS methods inside Watson (method and tuning files for data acquisition; peak processing parameters for peak integration); ability to integrate and re-integrate mass chromatograms inside Watson; interactive chromatogram gallery; storage of raw data inside Watson with integrated archiving & de-archiving.

Immune Response Module Enhancements (IRM Enhancements)

New plate acceptance criteria such as ratio of the LQCs to the NQCs or ratio of the HQCs to the LQCs and comparison of the result to acceptance criteria; display of plate acceptance results and criteria on Summary tab; flagging of results if outside acceptance criteria; IRM workflow makes it easier to choose samples with a Positive Screen or a Positive Titer result for use in subsequent assay tests.

Total error in Assay Precision reports

Addition of Total Error to 3 assay precision reports

Partial AUC

Ability to calculate Partial AUC in pharmacokinetics

Reporting of Accepted and Rejected Runs

Ability to report Accepted and Rejected Runs in the same report

Thermo Scientific Web Access Suite

Allows full, secure (SSL) high-performance access to Watson via any web browser; an alternative to Citrix; true thin-client web architecture (no maintenance of client PCs; central server administration only); supports multiple browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, Safari); supports multiple client platforms (Windows, Mac OS X, Solaris, Linus, Unix, Windows CE and Pocket PC)
